February 25, 2024I bought this for a hollow door, you have to measure the frame to lower the template to the proper place. Then the main plate does not attach to the backing plate on the other side of the door, it will just fall off & you see the inside of the door as they don’t attach. I returned it and spent the added money at Home Depot to get the quality door. This is just my experience, you may find something legally different in opinion…
Decent, gets the job done

January 18, 2024Overall, I'm okay with this cat door for the price. We did, however, have to buy longer screws to keep the cat door secured. Otherwise, my bowling ball of a cat would just push the whole thing out of the door when it was locked. As long as you're okay with doing some modifications, particularly if your door is pressboard, I'd recommend it.
Perfect & easy

September 4, 2020This was exactly what I needed. I had been looking around for pet doors and found them to be quite expensive. This was priced so low that I felt skeptical it would actually work. I didn't have - nor had every worked with - a jigsaw but found a reasonably priced one specifically for this project. I didn't follow the instructions that said you should remove the door from the hinges. I just used a level to make sure the cutting lines were straight. It was all very easy and now we have a perfectly installed pet door that our brand new (4.5 month old) kittens have started running back and forth through. I taped the flap up for them to get used to going in and out of the door but they caught on really quickly to that. Highly recommend the product!

June 3, 2021This is the second PetSafe door we've installed. It took my cats about a week to learn to use it. They didn't have a kitty door for a year while we relocated to temporary quarters. Once we established a new home and installed the second door, the kitties used it right away. The litter boxes stay in the garage and the house stays clear of litter. Best idea ever! My cats are about 10-12lbs each and they fit through it with no problem. The instructions are simple, just make sure your door size and frame are easy to work with. Metal doors are a hassle, but still doable.
